This section of the trail passes through six historic watermill sites. These include Third Coppice Wheel built in the 1750s, which was one of the largest sites in the valley, with many buildings, including a paper mill, two drying houses, a rope shed, stables and a dwelling. The trail ends at Rails Road, where the car park lies on the site of Rivelin Corn Mill, which dates from around 1600. Unfortunately the site of the last watermill site, Uppermost Wheel, cannot be visited as it is not on a public footpath.
