WELCOME TO RVCG
Promoting and protecting heritage and wildlife
The Rivelin Valley Conservation Group (RVCG) was formed in 1991 with the aim to encourage the effective management of wildlife habitats and to reverse the decline of the nature trail. Over the years we have completed numerous projects to protect the heritage of the valley, giving new life to the trail and in turn providing an invaluable resource to the local community.
What's happening...?
The RVCG task team was busy in early March diverting water away from paths around Hind Wheel and resurfacing them . Do contact rivelin.valley@gmail.com if you would like to join a future task team in the Rivelin Valley.
Its bird nesting season again! Here is a blue tit in a Rivelin garden nesting box. Please watch out for nesting birds on the ground and in the river banks and try not to disturb them.
Looks to me like thorough inspection of nest box prior to choosing whether to nest in it?
Thanks to all who came to the RVCG AGM and social. We hope you had a good evening with the quizzes, slideshow and bring and share buffet.
The RVCG committee are hosting a Social Evening on Thurs 11th April at Stephen Hill Methodist Church from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. This will incorporate our AGM, allow us to celebrate the last year and plan for the future. There will be a slide show, a quiz and a musical finale.
